Greta Gugino

Hello! My name is Greta Gugino and I am a certified Fitness Nutritionist with ISSA, USA. The idea behind this site and the content we share on social media is to help more people realize how important nutrition is to our health.


Did you know that a headache is one of the first symptoms of dehydration? Most of us don't think twice,  take a painkiller, and go about our day.  I used to get sick a lot myself. I had to take antibiotics every 2 months for infections and as a result, I am allergic to most of them.

I was "treating" the symptoms without thinking about the cause.



What was Cause:


 The cause was IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). My immune system collapsed (over 70% of our immune system is located in the gut) and I was in a vicious cycle of bloating, abdominal pain, chronic fatigue, terrible moods, and headaches.


I didn't realize that these were actually signs my body was giving me that I needed a drastic change. 


How I changed:


 My goal was to improve my health and get in shape.
I started reading a lot about the power of food and decided to invest in my education on the subject. Little by little, I changed my eating habits. I also started exercising regularly and making conscious choices about what I put on my plate – my body changed dramatically inside and out.  


I started sharing my knowledge with friends, family, and eventually clients.  For 6 years now I have been dedicated to helping people achieve their desired shape by eating healthier. 


Where I am now:


 Today, I am also a mother. My goal remains the same – to be a good example for my daughter and create good eating habits in her.

Anthony Gugino

Hello! My name is Anthony Gugino and I am a health and fitness coach here at Body Balanced. Before becoming a health and fitness coach, I played professional basketball for 14 years in Europe. Here's a little look into how my struggles with weight and performance led me to dive deeper into the topic of nutrition and ultimately turning my curiosity into my passion.  


Lets start from the beginning:


When I was younger, I was the type of person that could eat anything, no matter the amount and not gain a single pound. No matter how difficult practices and workouts were, my body would recover quickly and be ready for the next session. The same applied for sleep, 4/6/8 hours didn’t make a difference. My body was prepared to handle whatever I threw at it. As time went on, this became less and less the case. 


Around 26 years old I started to notice that during the off season I started to develop a belly, even though I was still training 1-2x per day. If the training session was difficult, I would feel the soreness and fatigue for much longer than before. My goal each summer was to put on 5-10 pounds of muscle before the next season. When I would start the pre-season, I would drop 5-10 pounds (not all from the belly) which was everything I worked for in the summer. I had no idea what I was doing wrong. This battle continued for a few more years until I met my future wife.


When I started living with my wife, Greta, I started to realize that I need to pay more attention to what I eat. After she completed her fitness and nutrition certification, she began to teach me what my body needs, how metabolism really works, and what I can do to keep me feeling ready for basketball. The big bonus is that she’s a great cook as well! After 2 years of eating with her I was not losing all of my gains from training, my body felt better/stronger, and I was able to play 35min a game for an entire season (40+ games) without being completely exhausted at the age of 34!!! All by changing my diet. 


Where I am now:


Right now, thanks to proper nutrition, I am able to maintain good shape and steady energy levels throughout the day. This is exactly what I need at 39 to chase my 3yr old around! 


Since retiring, I started working with my wife helping countless clients in her home country (Bulgaria). Now we want to share our method with ANYONE who is struggling with weight management.
